Norwood Police Log: Drug Arrest, Larceny of iPhone

Highlights from the weekend police logs. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Nov. 1

9:50 a.m. - Caller on Union St. reported two horses in his backyard. Animals were returned to the proper address up the street.

Friday, Nov. 2

9:34 a.m. - Caller on Boston-Providence Highway reported a motor vehicle accident. One vehicle towed from the scene. Police filed a report.

9:54 a.m. - Caller reported finding a couple of syringes on the sidewalk at Washington St. Police located and disposed of the same.

3:28 p.m. - Officer McDonagh reported witnessing a drug transaction in front of Soko's, stated subject took off on foot and threw drugs as he ran. The suspect, Ryan D. Scott was located at #7 Grant Ave. and arrested for possession of a class B substance and resisting arrest. Police reported the second subject was a Hispanic male, wearing dark blue scrubs, a hoodie, a red baseball cap and red
sneakers. May have gotten on a bus. Westwood and Dedham PD were notified.

6:23 p.m. - Caller on Neponset St. reported a white male with a beard wearing
dark clothes knocking on doors asking people of they need a handyman. Officers responded, could not locate male.

6:35 p.m. - Caller reported motor vehicle accident at Boston-Providence Highway and Sumner St. Norwood Fire responded, one vehicle towed from the scene. Police filed a report.

Saturday, Nov. 3

12:17 a.m. - Aunt who has custody of her nephew reported he never returned
home after school. Officer responded and filed a report. BOLO issued to cars. Party entered into Leaps database.

1:16 a.m. - Police made a motor vehicle stop at Washington and Chapel streets. As a result of the stop, police arrested Maria J. Quattrocchi, of Norwood, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

6:20 a.m. - Caller on Roosevelt Ave. reported a suspicious party testing his door knob to see if door was unlocked approximately 30 minutes ago. Caller turned on exterior light and party fled. According to caller party had returned. No description available. Officers were sent to investigate, reported suspicious party gone on arrival.

8:56 p.m. - Caller at the Four Points by Sheraton reported larceny of an iPhone. Responding officers spoke to all parties, placed Shane Kwame Reed, of Boston, under arrest for disorderly conduct, assault, larceny over $250 and possession of marijuana.

Sunday, Nov. 4

4:56 p.m. - Fire captain reported a male in the cemetery on Winter St. damaging the flags. Officers located male party and he checked out OK. Upon further investigation officers reported that this is old damage from the hurricane and the wind. No malicious damage.
