Norwood Police Log: Drug Arrests, Car Accidents

The following information was provided by the Norwood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

The following is the Norwood police log for Thursday, Sept. 5 and Friday, Sept. 6.

Thursday, Sept. 5:

7:04 a.m.-Union Street, Motor vehicle stop, citation and fine issued.

8:08 a.m.-Stearns Ave. parking ticket issued.

2:35 p.m.-Norfolk Probate Court, Shamut Ave, Court is dealing with a subject with a Norwood warrant. Evan Sales, 25, 46 Rockwell St., Dorchester with warrant arrest.

2:36 p.m.-Pleasant Street, Found syringe, disposed of.

4:11 p.m.-Nichols St.-Vernon St., two car motor vehicle accident. Cars towed.

4:17 p.m. CVS Pharmacy, Nahatan St., white female with blond hair in pharmacy section, reportedly yelling because non-refillable prescription couldn't be filled. Gone on arrival.

6: 16 p.m. Chapel Street, passing motorist noticed package fell off a car. Turn the box over to officer on private. Owner of the package containing computer parts picked it up.

7:30 p.m.-Route 1, by Walpole Mall northbound, a report of a brown convertible with two kids speeding in excess of 115 miles per hour. Search of the area turned up negative.

10:30 p.m. Shop & Shop, reported of teenagers fighting. Officer spoke with them and they were just playing around.

10:37 p.m.-Boston Providence Highway, Everett Street, motor vehicle accident, cars towed. Westwood Police assisted with traffic.

Friday, Sept. 6:

1:31 a.m. Winsor Gardens, woman flagged down officer, stating she was lost and need to get back to Brighton. She was transported to the police station after stopping at an ATM before cab was called.

11:15 a.m.-West Border Road and Nahatan Street, motor vehicle stopped, citation and fine issued.

11:38 a.m.-Washington Street-Mylod Street, motor vehicle accident, report filed.

3:59 p.m.-Walpole Street, motor vehicle, report filed. Norwood Fire Department responded. Car towed.

4:08 p.m. Arrested made at Mobil Gas, Washington-Railroad Avenue, Richard J. Hart Jr.,20,  81 Nichols St. Apt. 6, drugs, possession of a Class A substance.

5:21 p.m. Maple Street, noise complaint, party spoken to.

5:45 p.m.-Boncaldo Restaurant, Boston-Providence Highway, motor vehicle stop, citation fine issued.

8:47 p.m. Sturtevant Avenue, larceny, report filed.

8:50 p.m.-Boston Providence Highway-East Cross Street, motor vehicle stop, citation and fine issued.

9:08 p.m. Winslow Avenue, noise complaint, party spoken to, TV turned down.

9:40 p.m. Heaton Avenue, larceny, report filled.

10: 16 p.m.-Mobil Gas, Route 1, Dean Street, motor vehicle stop, citation and fine issued.

10:27 p.m.-Winslow Avenue,  a backpack reported missing.
