Norwood Police Log: Drug Conspiracy Arrests, Shoplifting Juveniles

Friday, April 27

8:56 a.m. - Walk-in to the department from Winslow Ave. reported identity theft. Police filed a report.

12:25 p.m. - Detective requested units to Alandale Parkway. As a result, police arrested Justin P. Diflaminies, Ryan D. Scott, and Thomas Christopher Fitzgerald, all of Norwood, for conspiracy to violate drug law.

3:02 p.m. - Caller at Ellis Rehabilitation Center reported items and money taken from the gift shop last evening. Police filed a report.

3:28 p.m. - Safety officer received information on threats made against Norwood High School. Police filed a report.

9:46 p.m. - Police made a motor vehicle stop on Boston-Providence Highway. As a result, officers arrested Gilbert Palta, of Roslindale, for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and one outstanding warrant.

Saturday, April 28

1:12 a.m. - Officer reported being approached by a party stating a hit and run occurred in the municipal lot across from Napper Tandy's. Police filed a report.

1:53 a.m. - Police initiated a motor vehicle stop at Savin Ave. and Chapel St. As a result, police arrested Elias C. Contos, of Norwood, for possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute, carrying a dangerous weapon, and operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended/revoked registration.

11:29 p.m. - Caller reported breaking and entering to a motor vehicle on Washington St. As a result of this investigation, police stated no break in occurred, male relieved himself next to the vehicle.

Sunday, April 29

11:48 a.m. - Caller reported graffiti on fence at Johnson Ct. Police filed a report.

12:01 p.m. - Caller on Lincoln St. reported car window smashed. Police filed a report.

1:23 p.m. - Caller reported brush fire between Savogran and Norwood Central. NFD responded and handled the call.

1:37 p.m. - Caller at Walpole and Chapel streets reported hit and run. Police filed a report.

4:29 p.m. - Caller reported shoplifting at TJ Maxx on Nahatan St. Stated three black males stole electronics and fled on bikes. Police filed a report for four juvenile arrests.

5:04 p.m. - Caller reported breaking and entering to a motor vehicle on Walpole St. Police were unable to locate suspects, filed a report.
