Norwood Police Log: Flags Stolen from Golf Course, Officers Investigate Halloween Decoration

Monday, Oct. 29

9:03 a.m. - Caller on Hickory Rd. reported larceny of items from home. Police filed a report and issued a summons.

11:54 a.m. - Caller reported railroad crossing gate snapped off near Norwood Depot station. An officer stood by until MBTA employees were on scene.

12:51 p.m. - Caller reported he was forced into a guardrail on Boston-Providence Highway by a Ryder truck who kept going. Possibly did not see motorist. Air bags were deployed and he drove to 13 Hoyle St. Responding officer reported investigation did not match the facts reported. It is unknown how the damage really happended to the car or where. Police filed a report.

6:56 p.m. - Caller reported males in a gray SUV took flags from golf
course and fled onto University Ave. Their direction of travel was unknown. Police filed a report.

Tuesday, Oct. 30

12:36 p.m. - Officers reported that as the result of an investigation, Robert M. Gately, of Norwood, was arrested for possession of a class B drug (subsequent offense), and uttering a false prescription.

2:55 p.m. - Caller reported found syringe on Neponset St. Officer located and disposed of the same.

3:40 p.m. - Caller on Hill St. reporteda syringe left at the end of the driveway. Officer located and disposed of the same.

6:29 p.m. - Caller on Boston-Providence Highway reported vehicle with has a leg with blood on it sticking out of the trunk, last seen headed southbound. Police issued a BOLO to all cars, area departments. Foxborough PD sent to registered address for vehicle, confirmed it was a Halloween decoration.
