Norwood Police Log: Hit and Run Leads to OUI Arrest, Armed Robbery at Mobil

Friday, Dec. 7

8:21 a.m. - Caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Neponset St. Two vehicles towed from the scene. Police filed a report.

3:48 p.m. - Caller reported breaking and entering to a motor vehicle, money missing. Police filed a report.

4:02 p.m. - Caller at Mobil Gas on Washington St. and Railroad Ave. reported a hit and run to a vehicle. Police filed a report.

6:10 p.m. - Caller reported a hit and run at Dean and Neponset streets, was following the suspect that fled. Vehicle last seen on Jacobsen Dr. Multiple units responded. Suspect fled vehicle. Police located and arrested Thomas F. Tierney, Jr., of Norwood, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and fleeing the scene of property damage.

6:10 p.m. - Caller on Alandale Pkwy. reported breaking and entering to their house. Police filed a report.

8:51 p.m. - Caller at Stop & Shop reported a female shoplifter that fled. Police issued a BOLO for the vehicle, filed a report.

11:42 p.m. - Caller at Washington St. and Sturtevant Ave. reported breaking and entering to a motor vehicle. Police filed a report.

Saturday, Dec. 8

12:05 a.m. - Caller reported that the 7-11 on Washington St. was being held up at gun point. All units responded. Officers checked all businesses and nothing was being held up. Upon further investigation the phone that was used to make the call was stolen in a breaking and entering to a motor vehicle minutes before.

9:08 a.m. - Caller reported car sideswiped last night while parked, unoccupied on Walnut Ave. Police filed a report.

12:49 p.m. - Caller at Stop & Shop stated a shoplifter was in the store and giving the manager a difficult time. As a result, police arrested Patrick Claffey, of Quincy, for shoplifting by asportation.

3:44 p.m. - Caller reported motor vehicle broken into while in service at Jack Madden Ford for the past two months. Police filed a report.

3:45 p.m. - Caller at Catmobile on Boston-Providence Highway reported two pet carriers stolen during the day. Police filed a report.

4:07 p.m. - Caller on Azalea Dr. reported U.P.S. packages stolen. Police filed a report.

6:03 p.m. - Walk-in to the department reported cell phone missing from home on Davis Ave. Police filed a report.

8:45 p.m. - As the result of a verbal argument at Adlife on University Ave., William F. Kelley, of Dedham, was placed under arrest for malicious destruction of property over $250. Police filed a report.

Sunday, Dec. 9

11:37 a.m. - As a result of news article about recovered property, a resident in the police station lobby reported their car was entered awhile ago on Ledgeview Dr. but they never reported it.

12:07 p.m. - Caller on Mountain Ave. reported past breaking and entering to residence. Police filed a report.

11:42 p.m. - Caller on Adams St. reported breaking and entering to home. Police filed a report.

Monday, Dec. 10

3:25 a.m. - Police received a call for a hold up alarm at Mobil on Washington St. Employee reported armed robbery. BOLO broadcast to area towns.
