Norwood Police Log Jan. 2: Busy Day on the Roads

The following information was provided by the Norwood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

The following are incidents from the Norwood Police Log for Jan. 2

12:50 a.m. Susp. vehicle on Plymouth Drive. Car towed and a summons was issued.
1:22 a.m. Caller reported motor vehicle stolen. Officer reported party is intoxicated and vehicle was located near by. Car was towed.
6:35 a.m. Slippery road reported on Walpole Town Line-Walpole Street. Mass DOT notified.
8:41 a.m. Motor vehicle accident at Morse Street. Car off the road and hit a guardrail. Norwood Fire Department sent.
11:10 a.m. Motor vehicle accident. Car reported to go through fence on Neponset Street and Talbot Farm Road. Norwood Fire Department was able to get the car off the lawn and the driver drove away.
11:11 a.m. Suspicious activity on Sturtevant Avenue. Subject was reportedly looking recycle cans and bottles. Advised to leave the area.
12:15 p.m. Very minor motor vehicle accident reported on Dean Street and Pleasant Street. Papers were exchanged.
1:09 p.m. Motor vehicle accident on Upland Woods entrance way, Upland Road. Fire department notified.
1:20 p.m. Arrest made in motor vehicle accident on Broadway after car reportedly went into a tree. Arrested Brian Mathew Barron, 40, OUI Liquor, third offense.
1:51 p.m. Disabled vehicle on Pendergast Circle towed.
3:17 p.m. Disabled vehicle on Boston-Providence Highway, near Clay Nissan.
4:02 p.m. Two car motor vehicle accident on Boston-Providence Highway-Everett Street with personal injures. Norwood Fire Department notified.
4:15 p.m. Motor vehicle accident on Pendergast Circle. Party reported snow fell on to his car from the rotary because of plowing.
6:32 p.m. Disabled vehicle Upland Road.
9:38 p.m. MCI-Walpole enroute to Norwood Hospital with a prisoner via state car.
9:45 p.m. Westwood police department reported a black SUV with atenna on the top was seen doing donuts on the front yard of Westwood High and fled down Nahatan Street towards Norwood. Westwood police would like them stopped if they were seen. Be on the lookout advisory was sent to the police cars.
