Norwood Police Log Jan. 9: Road Hazards Reported

The following information is from the Norwood Police logs. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following are incidents from the Norwood Police Department.

Thursday, Jan. 9:
12:22 p.m. Be on the lookout alert was issued from Walpole Police to look for a white male shoplifter.
2:15 p.m. Officer reported a manhole on Subway Hill, Washington Street, appears to be sinking. State and Norwood DPWs notified.
2:55 p.m. Residents reported his identity may have been compromised.
3:54 p.m. Search warrant led to the arrest of Marcos B. DeSousa, 20, Washington Street, Norwood, possession of a Class B drug.
3:55 p.m. Motorist reported a water pipe cover had flipped upside down and was sticking up into the lane of travel on Neponset and Dean Streets. Officer fixed it and DPW was notified to check and better secure it.
4:07 p.m. Road hazard on Washington and Hoyle Street. Officer on private detailed reported there was water in the intersection as result of sewer work being done for the town. DPW was notified.
4:24 p.m. Citizens reported water flooding building on Washington Street. Fire department was sent and DPW notified.
6:09 p.m. Caller reported loose dog at Hawes Pool, Washington Street. Animal control removed the dog.
