Norwood Police Log: Marijuana Distribution Case Closed, 3 OUI Arrests

Friday, Oct. 26

3:27 p.m. - As the result of a Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime Detectives Unit investigation, police arrested one man in connection with marijuana distribution.

3:36 p.m. - Caller reported finding a bag of syringes near Rama Fitness on Washington St. An officer picked them up and disposed of them.

8:06 p.m. - Caller on Kerry Pl. reported males outside drinking alcohol and possible smoking marijuana. Officers responded and spoke to a business owner who was on his property playing darts with friends. No alcohol or drugs being used.

3:35 a.m. - Police responded to a head-on collision on Rte. 1 between two vehicles. Two parties were sent to Boston hospitals with serious injuries. One was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, fourth offense.

11:25 a.m. - Mother on Dean St. called to report daughters fighting. As a result officers filed complaints for assault and battery against two juveniles (16).

Sunday, Oct. 28

1:13 a.m. - Officers made a motor vehicle stop near U.T.I. on Upland Rd. As a result, police arrested Allan James Kessler, of Dedham, for operating under the influence of alcohol, failure to stop for a police officer, assault and battery on a police officer among other charges.

7:05 a.m. - Caller on Norwest Dr. reported vandalism to a vehicle. Police filed a report.

7:29 a.m. - Walk-in to the department reported past domestic. As a result, police arrested Christopher A. Arpino, of Norwood, for assault and battery and intimidating a witness.

2:40 p.m. - Caller on Jacobsen Dr. reported a neighbor's dog bit child. Police filed a report.

7:07 p.m. - Norwood Police reported a prisoner displayed lacivious behavior in an attempt to deface a camera in cell 5. Officers responded.

7:58 p.m. - Caller reported motor vehicle accident at Guild and Linden streets and the other operator was trying to leave the scene. Officers responded and placed one male under arrest. Jeffrey M. McGourty, of Norwood, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
