Norwood Police Log Sept. 23: Don't Park on Sidewalks

Wednesday, Sept. 25
8:02 a.m. Light out, Mattress World, Boston-Providence Way-Dean Street. Light Department replaced light.
8:23 a.m. Fire, Extra Space Storage, Washington Street, fire on roof, Norwood Fire Department handled.
8:41 a.m. Wire down, Fairview Road, Norwood Fire Department and Light Department notified.
9:54 a.m. Caller reported receiving a call that son would be killed if they didn't pay $2,000.
10:13 a.m. Larceny, Clay Nissan, Boston-Providence Highway. Customer bounced a check for parts and then closed the account.
10:27 a.m. Motor vehicle accident, Bezema Motors Corp., Boston-Providence Highway in lot. Car towed.
11:58 a.m. Larceny, Mazda Gallery, Boston-Providence Highway.
12:05 p.m.-Parking violation, Neponset Street, Several large trucks blocked sidewalk, blocking view for party to get out of driveway. Vehicles moved off to the sidewalk. Parties advised.
1:23 p.m.-Shoplifting, Stop & Shop, Boston-Providence Highway. Caller reported shoplifter. Arrested Daniel J. Callahan, 53, of Norwood for shoplifting.
1:39 p.m. Parking violation, Cottage Street. Parked illegal on sidewalk. Parking ticket is issued.
3:07 p.m. Parking violation, Casey Street, Parked on sidewalk. Ticket issued.
3:20 p.m. Very minor vehicle accident in lot, Lenox-Plimpton Street, officer assisted with paper exchange.
4:29 p.m. Vandalism to vehicle, Walpole-Winter Streets. Report filed.
8:47 p.m. Civic Center, Caller reported finding five syringes.
8:54 p.m. Motor vehicle accident at Nahatan St.-Lenox St. at intersection. Papers exchanged.
10:04 p.m. Disturbance, Cedar St., kids gathering and small group moved.
