Norwood Police Log: Several Drug Arrests, Larceny of Snow Plow

Thursday, August 23

1:52 p.m. - Walk-in to the department reported her phone may have been stolen from The Chateau restaurant on Boston-Providence Highway. Police filed a report.

6:05 p.m. - Officer found syringe by McDonald's on Broadway, disposed of the same.

9:36 p.m. - Caller reported two vehicles broken into at a location on Boston-Providence Highway, stated laptop taken from one. Police filed a report.

11:08 p.m. - Caller on Bird Rd. reported jewelry taken from her residence. Police filed a report.

Friday, August 24

9:40 a.m. - Caller asked for a well being check on a resident at Highview St. As a result of the ensuing investigation, police arrested Alan B. Favors, of Norwood, for assault and battery.

3:20 p.m. - As a result of a Norwood Police investigation, officers arrested

5:30 p.m. - As the result of serving a search warrant at a Chapel St. residence.

10:32 p.m. - Police investigated a suspicious vehicle at Rama Shopping Center, and as a result arrested Eric John Vater, of Norwood, for possession of a class B substance.

11:22 p.m. - Caller on Nahatan St. reported a disturbance, and as a result, police arrested Patrick D. Malcolm, of Mattapan, for malicious damage to a motor vehicle, destruction of property, breaking and entering to a building, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Saturday, August 29

4:27 p.m. - Caller at McDonagh Construction Building Remodeling on Fulton St. reported a hole in the back wall of the business, possible hit by a car. Police issued a BOLO for a suspect vehicle. No arrest made.

11:02 p.m. - Caller reported car into a pole at Willow St., wires down, person fled the vehicle. Norwood Police and Fire responded, one vehicle towed from the scene.

Sunday, August 26

1:53 p.m. - Caller reported brush/mulch fire at Pleasant St. Norwood Fire handled the call.

6:02 p.m. - Caller reported past dog bite at location on Prospect St. Officer received information from the hospital, message left for Animal Control regarding the incident.

Monday, August 27

12:38 p.m. - Walk-in to the department reported larceny of a snow plow from Concord Ave. Police filed a report.

3:53 p.m. - Caller reported a white youth, probably 8 or 9 years old, hitch-hiking on Dean St. Police checked the area, found no such party.

7:42 p.m. - Walk-in to the department reported credit card stolen from Shaw's. Police filed a report.
