Norwood Police Log: Stolen Backhoe Found, Minors in Possession of Alcohol

The following information was provided by the Norwood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Friday, Feb. 1

8:47 a.m. - Caller reported a black SUV parked out front of apartment on Buckminster Drive, with a broken front window and a golf club under the vehicle. Vehicle is not callers, but she states it's been there for several days. Police filed a report.

11:45 a.m. - Walk-in to the department reported backhoe on Concannon's property. Stolen out of Canton, Canton PD to handle. Report filed.

2:36 p.m. - Resident in the station to report vandalism to a vehicle on Engamore Lane overnight. Police filed a report.

4:56 p.m. - Caller reported breaking and entering to a motor vehicle on Engamore Lane. Police filed a report.

Saturday, Feb. 2

4:39 p.m. - Citizen reported that there was a male party running down Washington Street with a face mask on. Officer checked the area, spoke with an individual who was out jogging. Advised the jogger not to wear full ski mask because it was making citizens nervous.

6:46 p.m. - Caller reported male party laying down on lawn on Washington Street appears to "passed out." Officers sent to investigate. Male party was intoxicated and placed into Protective Custody.

10:15 p.m. - Caller near Washarama on Washington Street reported suspicious activity. Officer sent to assist. As a result, four summons issued. Three for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and one for Procuring Alcohol for Minors.

Sunday, Feb. 3

5:15 a.m. - Caller on Atwood Avenue reported he heard a noise in his basement and found a Hispanic male there. Male fled the scene, officers responded. Police filed a report.

5:38 p.m. - Walk-in party reported her brother stole money from her. Officer to file report.

8:09 p.m. - Officer reported fireworks erupting at the intersection of Nichols and Vernon. Officers located and spoke to party responsible.

11:10 p.m. - Officer initiated an investigation of two suspicious males near Washington Street. As a result, police arrested two men for walking on the railroad tracks and possession of a burglarious instrument.
