Norwood Police Respond to Break and Entry on Granite Street

On Thursday February 21, 2013 Norwood Police responded to a past Break and Entry and Larceny which occurred in a home on Granite Street.  At approximately 6:50 p.m. officers responded to a call from a resident who reported that he had just come home to find that his house had been broken into and that a computer and jewelry had been stolen.  Entry to the home was made through a rear window.  The culprit(s) attempted to steal a television but were not successful. 

During a canvass of the neighborhood, officers learned that a neighbor had seen a young man acting suspiciously just prior to the B&E.  The person was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a hat with some sort of light attached to the top.

While officers were investigating the break, they learned of another attempted break and entry around the corner on Warren Street.  No entry was gained to the second home.  It is believed that an audible alarm scared the housebreaker(s) away.  Officers canvassed the neighborhood of this crime as well and learned from one witness that a young male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt was seen in the area.
