Norwood Resident's Bail Set in Canton Fatal Accident

Timothy Ciriello's defense says he is very remorseful and denies he fled the scene in Canton where a 63-year-old woman was killed on Chapman Street Thursday at 6 p.m., according to a WHDH-TV report.

The 19-year-old Norwood resident's bail was set at $10,000 and he was taken to court in Clinton where Ciriello had other outstanding warrants. His driver's license was also revoked, according to the report.

Police say the woman was crossing the street when she was hit and that Ciriello kept driving away from the scene.  Police also said they spoke to the passenger in Ciriello's car.

“This defendant responded ‘we just hit someone.’ He said that Ciriello continued up the road without stopping as Mr. Gallagher kept telling him to go back to the scene,” said prosecutor Debi Curley in the WHDH report.

Police say Ciriello left and then returned to the scene.
