NPD Officer David Eysie Promoted to Detective

Chief Brooks announced that Eysie received his gold shield on Tuesday.

The following is a release that was posted to the Norwood Police Department Facebook page:

Chief of Police William G. Brooks III is pleased to announce the promotion of Officer David J. Eysie to the rank of detective. The decision to promote Detective Eysie was made following consultation with General Manager John Carroll, and members of the Department’s command staff. The promotion is effective immediately.

Detective Eysie has been a police officer for thirty years, spending most of his time in uniformed patrol. Last spring, he was temporarily assigned by Chief Bartley King to work in plainclothes on drug enforcement. That initiative has been successful with his assignment being extended a month at a time.

At Tuesday’s squad meeting of the Department’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Chief Brooks told Detective Eysie of his promotion and handed him his new gold shield.
