Firefighters battled the cold rain along with the fire Monday morning.

Firefighters were out in the freezing rain this morning battling a two-alarm blaze at 1407 Washington St. in Norwood, just before the Walpole line.

Everyone got out of the house and is being assisted by the American Red Cross and volunteers.

Firefighters knocked out the windows on the second floor and dealt with heavy smoke, according to FOX-25 report.

Both Union and Shore Streets were closed in the morning.
