Police Say Stabbing on Washington Street 'Not a Random Act'

According to police, the suspects knew the victim.


Norwood Police responded to Washington Street after receiveing a phone call from a man who said that he was stabbed several times, according to reports.  

It was later discovered that the victim and the suspects are knew eachother.

"Alvarado and the victim had engaged in a verbal dispute that escalated into the assault and battery," police said.

The victim was transported to Norwood Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. 

Police then set up a perimeter while Officer Jaime Mazzola was investigating the area to gathered information.

Massachusetts State Police K-9 assisted Norwood Police with capturing the two suspects who were a short distance away from the scene of the crime. 

Police arrested Roslindale resident Robert Alvarado, 40, and Norwood resident Adam Lopez, 46.

Both suspects will be arraigned at Dedham District Court this morning.
