Small Fires Cause Thousands of Dollars in Damages on Walnut Avenue and Washington Street

Norwood Fire Department dealt with a couple of small fires that caused thousands of dollars in damages.

For the last week, Norwood Fire has dealt with a couple of small fires in the area. 

On Wednesday firefighters responded to a porch fire on Walnut Avenue after receiving a call around 1:30 p.m.

"When the fascia board was removed from the front corner of the porch flames shot out which crews quickly extinguished," Norwood Fire representative George Morrice said. 

No one was injured in the fire, however there was $15,000 worth of damage. 

Norwood Firefighters also responded to a shed fire on Washington Street at 3:53 p.m. on Sunday.  

"The cause of both fires are undetermined and are believed to be accidental," Morrice said.
