Norwood Police and Fire were tied up for more than an hour on Thursday after a suspicious suitcase was left standing alone in the Shaw's parking lot. The suitcase was determined to be empty.
The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad was called in to investigate after Norwood Firefighters and Police Officers evacuated a small portion of the parking lot and Nahatan Street. Shaw's customers were only allowed to use the far entrance while others were not allowed to return to their vehicles.
The suitcase was X-rayed by the State Police and then opened.
