Wrentham Puts 911 Dispatcher in Route 1 Dragging on Paid Leave

The Wrentham police dispatcher that handled the initial call related to a fatal dragging on Route 1 in November has been put on administrative leave.

Deborah Finnegan, who has been a civilian dispatcher in Wrentham for over 15 years, was placed on leave after what investigators call an unintentional error according to WHDH.

On Nov. 18, 58-year-old Kanchanben Patel, a housekeeper at Arbor Inn Motel on Route  was dragged to death up Route 1 from the Arbor Inn in Wrentham to near Chickie Flynn's in Foxborough..

The Wrentham Police dispatcher, who took the call on the dragging death of Kancanben Patel, has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to WHDH.  Police says the error was unintentional. An internal investigation is on going.

The initial call requesting a police cruiser concerning an unpaid bill came in though the business line eight minutes before the incident according to Wrentham Police. A cruiser was not sent until a 911 call came in after the Patel was run over.

Patel, 58, was a housekeeper at the Arbor Inn Motel on Route 1, was allegedly hit by Moses Acloque, 22, of Norwood.

Acioque plead not guilty to the charges of leaving the scene of a collision causing death; motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, two counts of leaving the scene of property damage, and driving while license to operate suspended. He was held on $3,000 bail, has to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet, stay away from the Ann Arbor Inn, and have no contact with any witnesses or employees of the motel.
