Rep. Rogers Meets With Irish Consul General

Representative John H. Rogers (D-Norwood) met with Consul General of Ireland Breandán Ó Caollaí to promote economic ties and better trade partnerships.

Massachusetts and Ireland are close trade partners. In 2011, Massachusetts exported more than $1 billion of goods and services to Ireland and imported over $500 million of goods and services from Ireland.  In 2012, Ireland was the state's 14th largest export partner.

Rogers, who attended law school at the University of Galway in Ireland, specifically cited the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce, headquartered in Norwood as an important American partner to grow jobs locally and abroad.
