Thursday night there will be a book fair and presentation by two local authors at St. Catherine's School.

On Thursday night St. Catherine's School will host local authors Jerry Pallotta and Tui Sutherland for a "Meet the Authors" event and book fair in the school cafeteria.

This is the first time the school has hosted this sort of event said Jenn Rogala, Enrichment Coordinator for St Catherine of Siena School.

If families already have books by these two authors they are welcome to bring them along to be autographed, there will also be books for sale.

"The kids will have an opportunity to hear both authors speak about their experience writing for children," Rogala said. "And after that the kids will be able to chat with both authors and have books authographed. We'll have a couple arts and crafts tables set up for kids to be creative. The art and crafts are based on Tui's and Jerry's books."

The event begins at 6:30 and is free to the public.

Jerry Pallotta combines non-fiction subjects with humor and the unexpected to create enthusiasm for literacy in the elementary classroom. His ultimate goal is to inspire young authors to read and write a zillion books.

Tui Sutherland has written over 30 books for children and teens, ranging in age from sticker books and easy-to-reads (Meet Mo and Ella, Fun with Mo and Ella) to middle-grade and young adult novels.
