Fontbonne Volleyball Team Raises Money to Fight Breast Cancer

Fontbonne Academy held its annual volleyball fundraiser to support breast cancer research Wednesday.
Norwood's Nicole Kunze is a member of the team.
Called “Volley for a Cure,” the teams donned pink shirts and charged $5 admission to their games. They also held a bake sale at their games.  They raised more than $400 for The Ellie Fund, a local non-profit organization that helps the families of the patients of breast cancer with everything from groceries to rides to doctors appointments.
The varsity team won their game against Stoughton, fueled by all the good energy in the gymnasium.
“They played a great game, and had a lot of fun,” said coach Maria Devine.
Fontbonne recently hosted a five-mile walk through Milton to support The Ellie Fund and these funds will boost their donation to the cause.
