Hanifin Named to USA Men's National Under 17 Hockey Team

Norwood's Noah Hanifin will be representing the USA Men's National Under 17 hockey team, who will be competing in the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia from Dec. 28-Jan. 4.

Hanifin, who has already committed to Boston College for the Class of 2015, is one of the top defenseman in the country and is projecting to be a high NHL draft choice. 

Team USA will be opening up tournament play Dec. 29 against Russia at the Civic Center in Port Hawkesburg, Nova Scotia. All of the game will be screamed live and also on demand at FASTHockey.com. Team USA was third last year after back-to-back second place finishes. 

After being a standout at St. Sebastian's, Hanifin is now playing for the U.S. National Development Team, based in Anna Arbor, Mich.
