The Norwood High field hockey field was named in honor of Cathleen Burt Shachoy, whose career spanned 41 years in town as a respected teacher, dean, coach and Friendship Club Advisor. The dedication was made Monday, Sept. 16.
Her 1984 field hockey was inducted into the Norwood Athletic Hall of Fame. Shachoy was instrumental in the development of the sports programs at NHS, in particular the women's teams.
