Patriots Cheerleaders Announce 2013 Squad, Including Norwood Native

Norwood native and New England Patriots cheerleader finalist Amber Smith made the final cut for the 25-member squad.

 

After a six-week audition process, the New England Patriots Cheerleaders have chosen their squad for the 2013 season.

Norwood native, Amber Smith, 22,  was among the 36 finalists to participate in the annual Patriots Cheerleaders Boot Camp – the final phase of the audition process. Smith is a two year veteran and is excited about starting her third year with the squad.

Smith made it through the preliminary auditions in March .

Smith was one of 57 candidates who were invited back for final auditions on March 16 and made the cut down to 36. Smith and the 35 other contestants just completed the annual boot camp portion of the audition on March 30, which consisted of four sessions.

After the completion of the final boot camp session, the squad chose the following 25 women from the field of 36 finalists to comprise the 2013 team.

The team includes 12 rookies and 13 returning veteran cheerleaders. Squad rehearsals will begin immediately to prepare for the upcoming Junior Patriots Cheerleader clinics scheduled in May. All 25 cheerleaders will travel to St. Lucia in June to shoot the squad’s annual swimsuit calendar and behind the scenes video; “Sideline to Shoreline.”
