By placing fifth in the 1500-meter run at the USA Track and Field Region 1 meet on Saturday, July 7 in Baltimore, Maryland, Caroline Kremer qualified for the USA Track and Field Junior Olympic National Meet.

Kremer, a student, made it to the Region 1 meet with a third-place finish at the New England meet in Fitchburg, running a 10-second personal record in the 1500 meter run along the way.

USA Track and Field is the governing body of Track, Road Racing and Cross Country in America. They put on meets such as the Junior Olympics to promote competition and good sportsmanship among athletes of the same age.

The country is split into 16 different regions, and five athletes in each event earn the right to represent their region at the national meet.

This being just her first year of competing, Kremer's dedication and competitive spirit saw her dramatically improve to the point that she earned her first trip to a national meet.

With three weeks remaining until the National meet Kremer will look to fine tune her fitness and strive for a top performance on Sunday, July 29.
