'Norwood Rocks' Benefit Concert This Friday Night

Norwood Rocks III will be held at the Elks Friday night to benefit the Norwood Food Pantry.

Three local bands will join forces Friday night for the third benefit concert, with all proceeds going to the .

The Full-Time Dreamers, Cousin Johnny and Death by Fame - all bands with Norwood roots - will play at the event, which is being held at the starting at 7:00 p.m. Cost of entry is $5, and guests are also being asked to bring a canned good donation for the food pantry.

"It's a perfect time to do it," said Kate Kenney, singer for The Full-Time Dreamers, noting that the food pantry is low on donations after the generosity engendered by the holidays.

"They're really down in the spring time," she said.

Henry Santoro of WFNX radio will be hosting the concert, which according to Kenney will include sets of cover songs ranging from the 60's to today.

"We find that gets people out there dancing and having a good time," she said.

Norwood Rocks started four years ago, and Kenney said it is "totally grassroots" with family and friends helping to run the event, and all proceeds will be delivered to the food pantry Saturday. She said maybe in the future every year of the concert could benefit a different charity.

"I'm praying for a good turn out, I really hope so," Kenney said.
