Liam McGourty, age 4, is living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He serves as a local MDA Goodwill ambassador along with his mother Kristen, and they thank sponsors such as Shaw's for raising funds for services and research that go to children and adults like Liam such as clinic visits, flu shots, repairs on medical equipment and summer camp for children ages 6-17 affected by MD. Liam is still too young for camp but looks forward to going in a few years.

The McGourty family is very involved in raising funds for DMD research through MDA and hosts a road race every September with Norwood Fire called "Miles for Liam." The event has raised over $12,000 in its two year tenure.
