Norwood Resident to Play Guitar Concert at Medfield Library

Norwood's Steve Marchena, whose guitar artistry ranges from classical to contemporary, will perform at the Medfield Public Library, Sunday, Jan. 12, at 3 p.m. Admission is free. Marchena is currently the Guitar Instructor-In-Residence at Bentley University in Waltham.

Norwood Retired Men's Club to Meet Jan. 14
The first meeting in the 28th year for the Norwood Retired Men’s Club will be Tuesday, Jan. 14, 10 a.m. in the Norwood Elks. President Tom Tobin will again lead for the 2014 year. They will be selling tickets for their 11th annual Valentine dinner. It will be held at the Apollo this year and will be open to the general public as well. The price will be $30 per person. You will have a choice of scrod or prime rib. It will be at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Tables of 10 can be reserved in advance. There will be a limited number, so make your plans early. You don’t have to be  Norwood resident to join the NRMC but you must be at least 60 and retired or semi retired. Plenty of parking. Just walk in and someone will greet you.
 
Planet Fitness to Host Grand Opening
Patrick House, the Season 10 winner of The Biggest Loser will be visiting the new Planet Fitness in Norwood to celebrate the club's grand opening, Tuesday, Jan. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. The ribbon cutting will be at 5:30 p.m. The facility is located at 418 Walpole St., Rte. 1A in Norwood. KISS 108 will be broadcasting live from the event and Jasper White's Summer Shack will be catering the event.

Norwood School Committee to Meet Wednesday
The Norwood School Committee will be meeting Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m. at the James R. Savage Educational Center, School Committee Room, 275 Prospect St.

What to Wear Today
There will be morning rain today, which will be tapering off by noon, according to WHDH. It will be near 50 this morning before dropping off into the 30s in the afternoon. Be careful of icy spots in the afternoon and the evening.
