Michael Thomas Giunta Dies at 34; Resident of Norwood

Mr. Giunta worked in Nuclear Medicine to work with cancer patients, in addition to Alzheimer's research at Massachusetts General.

Michael Thomas Giunta, 34, passed away suddenly on March 28, 2013 at his home in Norwood, outside of Boston, MA. He was a hard working, caring and passionate person who lived his life for others. A University of Vermont honors graduate who dedicated his career in Nuclear Medicine to work with cancer patients, in addition to Alzheimer's research at Massachusetts General. He is survived by; his mother and father, Kathryn and Thomas Giunta; brother and sister-in-law, Ryan and Lindsey Giunta; best friend and dog, Bailey; many cherished family members and life long friends. M. Dorothy Butters, 87, of Walpole, formerly of Norwood and S. Yarmouth, Thurs., March 27. Born in Norwood, Aug. 18, 1925, the daughter of David J. Butters and Ruth M. (Morgan), she worked at Ropes & Gray in Boston. She volunteered at many community charities on Cape Cod including, Cape Cod Hospital and St. Pius Church's Hospitality for the Homeless and also was a missionary in Honduras for many years. Dorothy was the dear sister of Joan P. and her husband Paul Charron of Norwood, David J. Butters and his wife "Ginny" of NY, NY, Stephen J. Butters and his wife Mary Alice of Norwood, and the late Elizabeth A. and her late husband Peter Long. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Elinor P. Bythrow, Former Norwood Resident, Dies at 99

  Elinor P. (Rogers) Bythrow of Quincy passed away  on Thursday, Mar. 21, 2013, at the age of 99. Born and raised in Quincy, where she lived most of her life, she had also lived in Norwood, Franklin and Randolph. Before retiring in 1978, Elinor had worked as a secretary for 27 years at the Masoneilan International Co. in Norwood and enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing the piano and organ and reading. She was a communicant of St. Agatha's Church in Milton. The beloved wife of the late Ervin Quincy Bythrow, she was daughter of the late Gideon and Elizabeth (O'Connell) Rogers; sister of the late Isabelle Saville, Evelyn Fratus, Henry Rogers and Alfred Rogers; and is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Grasso was a class of 1937 graduate of Norwood High School.

Frederick F. Grosso age 93 years died in his Norwood, Massachusetts home on Friday, March 22, 2013. Born in Norwood on November 3, 1919, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Scotti) Grosso. He graduated from Norwood High School with the class of 1937. Mr. Grosso proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a life long resident of Norwood. He worked for the Foxboro Company in Foxboro, Massachusetts for 35 years in the technical support department. He retired in 1981.   Dorothea (Duffy) Bergin, wife of the late George Bergin, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Mar. 14, 2013. She was 94. Born in Holbrook, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Viola (Croteau) Duffy. Educated in the Norwood school system, she graduated from Norwood High School in 1937, and later the Gillis Business School. She moved to the Taunton area many years ago. A retired office worker, Mrs. Bergin was a member of the Oakland Seniors and theVFW Senior Veterans. She was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church. Survivors include two sons, Paul D.
