The morning accident did not result in any serious injuries, officials said.
Route 95 in Norwood experienced a four-car motor vehicle accident Saturday morning. A spokesperson for the Massachusetts State Police said emergency officials responded to the northbound side of the highway at approximately 10 a.m. The accident was minor and did not result in any serious injuries, the spokesperson said. The highway was not forced to be shut down for any period of time.

An ambulance failed to stop at an intersection earlier this morning, resulting in a three-vehicle accident.
Officers responded to a three-vehicle crash earlier this morning that sent two people to Norwood Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police spokesman Kevin Grasso said in a statement. At 9:47 a.m., a Fallon Ambulance transporting a patient to and from a medical facility was traveling south on Washington Street approaching Railroad Avenue, Grasso said. The vehicle's siren and emergency lights were activated as it reached red traffic signal at Washington Street. Two vehicles were in motion on Railroad Avenue when the ambulance failed to stop for the red light prior to entering the intersection, Grasso said. Hundreds of 911 accidental and hang up calls are received by police each year.
When someone picks up the phone and dials 911 in an emergency, they probably expect a response. That's almost a no-brainer, but what happens on the other end when a call is abruptly hung up — or if the call is an accident? "It doesn't matter if you make a mistake or not," Norwood Police Spokesman Kevin Grasso said. "The technology pushes the call through regardless." In 2010, the Norwood police department received 564 hang up calls and and 186 accidental calls. And in the year prior, 264 hang up and 285 accidental calls were placed. Whether a call fits one particular category or the other is up to the dispatcher, Grasso said.
