Norwood's seen two deer incidents in the past week, and could see more.
State and local officials are urging drivers in suburban areas to keep an eye out for deer this fall as mating season pushes more animals into contact with humans, increasing the likelihood of dangerous collisions. In Norwood, animal control officer Henry Cerqueria has received two reports of deer-related incidents in the past week. Both involved a collision, or suspected collision, with a car. Cerqueria said this type of incident is very common at this time of year due to the mating season and the fact that now, the roads are dark an hour earlier due to the end of Daylight Savings time in early November.
