The armed robbery involved a gun, according to police scanners.
There was an armed robbery at 162 Walpole St. on Saturday around 10:24 p.m., according to police scanners. A gun was shown and "unknown proceeds" were taken. The suspect is a black male, who wore a black hoodie, brown cargo pants and a hat at the time of the robbery, according to police. And he was last seen driving north on Route 1A in an "unknown type" red car. Norwood Patch will be following this story. Norwood Police have arrested and charged a suspect in the knife-point robbery that took place in Norwood Center last Thursday.
Norwood Police have arrested a suspect in the armed robbery that took place in Norwood Center last Thursday. According to a Norwood Police statement, Joshua Johnson, 26, of 196 Fairmount Avenue Apt. 9 in Hyde Park, confessed to committing the robbery at the Norwood News Convenient Store after being arrested on an active warrant issued out of Suffolk Superior Court in Boston for an armed robbery and an additional charge of Heroin possession. On Friday, Dec. 14, Norwood Police went to 36 Walpole St. acting on an anonymous tip that a male subject staying in one of the apartments had an outstanding warrant. Police reported no weapon was shown and suspects left on foot.
Norwood Police responded to an armed robbery at Dunkin' Donuts on Route 1, on the afternoon of Saturday, April 23 after several customers reported a robbery at that location, stated a release from the department this morning. According to the statement by NPD spokesperson Kevin Grasso, "Witnesses stated two suspects entered the store and asked for all the cash." Two employees were working at the time and were unharmed, the police stated. Suspects were described as white males, in their 20's, both tall. Witnesses said one was wearing a mask, a gray hooded sweatshirt and black gloves. The other was wearing dark sunglasses and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
