Two Suspects Arrested for Shoplifting $500 Worth of Shrimp from Shaws

The two suspects were arraigned at Dedham District Court on Monday.

  On Sunday, Mar. 3 at around 2:50 p.m. Norwood Police were contacted by a witness saying that two subjects were running out of Shaws's Market on Nahatan Street.  Each of the suspects were carrying grocery baskets filled with merchandise. "The witness told the Police Dispatcher the suspect’s last location was Neponset Street towards Canton," Norwood Police said in a statement. "Officers checked the area and could not locate any suspects or their vehicle." The Loss Prevention Officer of Shaws told police that the store's surveillance camera shows the suspects entering the store.  Five minutes later, the camera footage showed the suspects running out of the store.  It was later learned that $500 worth of shrimp was stolen. Norwood Police Nab Two For Housebreak on Fulton Street

An increase in anti-crime patrols in the area led to the arrests of two Dedham men on Friday.

The following is a release from the Norwood Police Department: On Friday, Jan. 25, officers of the Norwood Police Department arrested two Dedham men and charged them with breaking into a house on Fulton Street. Here’s how they did it: Due to an uptick in housebreaks over the past few months, the NPD increased its deployment of anti-crime units. Anti-crime is a plainclothes patrol and surveillance unit where officers target areas of town where crimes have recently occurred. Officer Lopes was on anti-crime duty in plainclothes and in a nondescript vehicle when he spotted a man sitting in a blue Saturn in front of a house on Fulton Street. Woman Arrested for Assaulting Ex-Husband in Norwood Apartment

The 41-year-old Sharon woman was arrested after forcing her way into her ex-husband's apartment and threatening him and his girlfriend.

Police arrested a Sharon woman Friday for forcing her way into her ex-husband's apartment and threatening him and his girlfriend, police said Monday afternoon. Lucretia Washington, 41, of Sharon, was arrested with the help of Sharon Police and charged with assault and battery, breaking and entering, intimidation of a witness, and malicious destruction of property over $250, according to Norwood Police logs. Police spokesman Kevin Grasso said that Washington showed up at her ex-husband's apartment on Nahatan St. in Norwood Friday afternoon. Plasko, Jr., of Norwood, for breaking and entering and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older, after a walk-in to the department alleged he had assaulted her in her residence. Two Arrested After Police Chase for Theft from Norwood Light Dept. Yard

One suspect has yet to be apprehended and the matter is still under investigation, police said Monday.

Norwood police arrested two men early on the morning of Friday, May 20, for stealing electrical wire from the Norwood Light Department storage yard after the suspects fled from police both by vehicle and on foot, said a police statement issued today. John Raymond, 36, of Sharon, and Andrew L. Stanley, 29, of Somerville, were arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering and larceny over $250 according to police log entries. Raymond was also charged with resisting arrest and failure to stop for a police officer. A third suspect in the theft had not been apprehended by police as of Monday afternoon. Woman Arrested for Selling Drugs at Work in Dedham, Norwood

Police observed the suspect at both Norwood and Dedham offices after receiving an anonymous tip earlier this month.

Dedham Police arrested 42-year-old Theresa Foley, of Stoughton, Friday afternoon for allegedly selling drugs in the parking lot of Dedham Medical, where she worked. Foley was released on bail Monday after her arraignment, police said.  Det. Robert Walsh told Dedham Patch that they received an anonymous call earlier this month that Foley was selling drugs out of her car during her lunch hour. She worked two days a week at the Dedham office and two days a week at the Norwood office, Walsh said. Foley was seen by drug enforcement officers selling drugs to as many as six people during her lunch hour, Walsh said. "She was making clearly hand-to-hand drug activity," Walsh said Monday. Dedham Man Arrested for OUI After Striking Norwood Police Car

Police said there were no injuries and minimal damage.

On Friday night Norwood police arrested Daniel Farnkoff, 82, of Dedham, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol after an officer reported Farnkoff struck his stopped police car. According to police, Officer Eric Kascavitch was writing a citation on a motor vehicle stop on Boston-Providence Highway in Norwood when the vehicle Farnkoff was operating struck the side mirror of Officer Kascavitch's cruiser. Further units responded and Farnkoff pulled the vehicle over. "After on scene investigation he was placed under arrest. No injuries and minor damage to the vehicles," said police spokesman Kevin Grasso this morning. Norwood Police Arrest Suspects in Middleboro Home Invasion

The suspects were located and arrested by police driving on Route 1 in Norwood.

Norwood police yesterday arrested three suspects in a home invasion in Middleboro where they were armed with guns, according to the police reports. Jacob McMahon and Tyler Henderson of Middleboro are charged with home invasion, firearm-armed and are in the custody of the Middleboro police after being taken into custody by Norwood officers Tuesday afternoon. A third suspect was also arrested but his name is not being released because he is a juvenile. At 4:55 p.m. yesterday, Norwood Police received a BOLO (be on the lookout) for a brown F-150 pickup truck used in a home invasion where a handgun was used, according to a report released by the department. Saturday, Jan. 8: 1:17 a.m. - Department received a 911 call from an apartment on Lansdowne Way reporting a lot of noise and yelling from the floor below. Responding officers requested hospital transport for one resident, and reported a home invasion by six masked males who fled the scene before the police arrived. 4:25 p.m. - Caller on Fisher St. reports suspicious activity.
