Norwood Hospital Doctors Make 'Top Docs' List

Three Norwood Hospital doctors have made it in to Boston magazine’s annual Top Docs list.

Three Norwood Hospital doctors have made it in to Boston magazine’s annual Top Docs list in the December cover story. Every year Boston magazine’s staff presents readers with a list of the area’s top doctors. For the annual look at the Boston area’s best physicians, Boston magazine partnered with healthcare researcher Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. to bring you this year’s guide to 645 of Boston’s Top Doctors. Dr. Savitha Gowda, Norwood Hospital, internal medicine; Dr. John Al-Jamal, Norwood Hospital, obstetrics/gynecology; and Dr. Jonathan L. Caine, Norwood Hospital (and Newton-Wellesley Hospital), pediatrics, were named to this year's list.

Boston Magazine Blog Says Norwood Theatre 'Gloriously Rehabbed'

A post in the Boston Daily blog on the Boston Magazine website highlights the renovation and reopening of Norwood's Theatre.

A post on Boston Magazine's "Boston Daily" blog by Matthew Reed Baker last week called the Norwood Theatre a "stellar new addition to its [the South Shore] arts community." The Theatre reopened Labor Day weekend after over two years of restoration work. A Dover resident Susan Lewis purchased the building from the Fiddlehead Theatre Company in January of 2010. The renovated Theatre seats 731 guests, and now has a license to serve beer and wine for adult theatre-goers. This past weekend the Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra was the first major show to grace the stage of the reopened Theatre, and the Boston Magazine blog notes that future shows will include comedy, children’s events, a cappella groups, and films for the whole family. Norwood started off the week with an extravaganza - the annual Holiday Extravaganza to be exact. Be sure to check out the Patch photo gallery from that event and the video of the F. In the courts this week, the Norwood man accused in several violent robberies from 2009 pleaded guilty to eight counts of information of armed bank robbery on Monday in U.S. District Court, while the president of Norwood-based Systemic Research Inc. pleaded guilty to defrauding the National Science Foundation. In county court, a former Norwood resident was sentenced to five years in jail for throwing Molotov cocktails into several Walpole buildings in 2005. Three Norwood Doctors Chosen for 'Top Docs'

Boston Magazine released their annual Top Docs feature today, including three from Norwood Hospital.

Each year Boston Magazine releases a list of the best doctors in the Boston area and for the second consecutive year, three Norwood Hospital doctors have made the cut. Obstetrician/gynecologist John Al-Jamal, MD, of Dedham, pediatrician Jonathan Caine, MD, of Westwood, and internal medicine specialist Savitha Gowda, MD, also of Westwood, join the ranks of almost 600 doctors across 55 specialties listed in this year's issue. "We are very pleased to have three physicians named to Boston Magazine's prestigious annual list," said Margaret Hanson, Norwood Hospital president.
