Norwood Police Respond to Break and Entry on Granite Street

Norwood Police are also urging residents to report suspicious persons.

Editor's Note: The following information was provided by the Norwood Police Department.   On Thursday February 21, 2013 Norwood Police responded to a past Break and Entry and Larceny which occurred in a home on Granite Street.  At approximately 6:50 p.m. officers responded to a call from a resident who reported that he had just come home to find that his house had been broken into and that a computer and jewelry had been stolen.  Entry to the home was made through a rear window.  The culprit(s) attempted to steal a television but were not successful.  During a canvass of the neighborhood, officers learned that a neighbor had seen a young man acting suspiciously just prior to the B&E.  The person was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a …

Police Looking for Information on Stolen Guns

Police say several weapons were stolen in the breaking and entering of a home on Hemlock Ave.

Police are currently investigating a breaking and entering of a residence on Hemlock Ave. that resulted in several missing firearms. Chief Bartley King told the Board of Selectmen Tuesday night that the robbery took place the week of Dec. 26, but was reported by the residence's caretaker the morning of the 31st. The victim is currently out of state, but the chief said they know that several guns were taken from the residence. Patrolman Kevin Grasso, spokesman for the department, said in an email yesterday that limited information is available for release, due to the fact that this is an active investigation. Police Logs: Nov. 25-26

Highlights from the daily police logs.

Thursday, Nov. 25: 5:25 p.m. - Report of malicious damage. While officers were on another call they noticed the ashtray in front of town hall was thrown around the entrance way. No report filed, just log entry. 9:30 p.m. - Caller reports possible breaking and entering to a neighbor's apartment on Adams St. Officer reports it was a misunderstanding. No breaking and entering occured. 11:14 p.m. - A caller reported her license plate stolen from Rock St. A report was filed. Friday, Nov. 26: 12:00 a.m. - A caller reported he hit a deer on Route 1 and it is dead in the road. Officers responding reported both the car and deer gone on arrival.
