Volunteers Serve Up More Than Just Turkey Dinner

Every year Abundant Table provides a Thanksgiving feast for about 100 people in need.

By 9:00 Wednesday morning, the kitchen at the First Congregational Church of Norwood was already packed with volunteers preparing food. By 4:00 p.m., the hall was decorated, the tables set, the first guests were arriving and the last couple turkeys were being carved up - the last couple of the 11 prepared that day. The 11 turkeys, 60 pounds of mashed potatoes, 20 pounds of butternut squash, yams, green bean salad and cranberry sauce were all prepared for Abundant Table's pre-Thanksgiving meal, an event that founder and president of the organization Aislynn Rodeghiero said is one of their largest.
