Spring Events from Norwood Recreation

Check out these upcoming calendar events from Norwood Recreation.

The Norwood Recreation Department has several programs coming up: Egg-cellent Egg Dying- Reserve your space in advance and come to the Civic for our first of many “egg-cellent” egg dying experience. Each participant will have the opportunity to dye six eggs and bring them home in time for the holiday. The event is open to all ages. Mar. 28, 2013 from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.  The event costs $10 per person. Flashlight Egg Hunt- Search for candy-filled eggs in the dark at our Second Annual Spring Flashlight Egg Hunt. Bring your flashlight or glow sticks and have a visit with a special bunny. Mar. 29, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. The event costs $5 per person. New June Programs Announced at Norwood Recreation

Check out the programs and classes coming right to the Civic.

June is right around the corner, and the Norwood Recreation Department is offering a number of new programs to local residents. Check out some of the following offerings and call the Recreation Department for further details: Beginning June 6, the Norwood Recreation Department has partnered with the Department of Conservation and Recreation's "Use Nature as Your Guide" program to offer a ParkPass that entitles the bearer to free parking for one vehicle to any Massachusetts State Park or State Beach. Come to the Norwood Recreation Department to reserve this pass one week in advance. Passes can only be reserved by Norwood residents or staff working full-time in Norwood. There is a $5 refundable deposit that will be returned once the pass is …

1. The special town meeting will continue tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the high school. Watch Patch today for an outline of the remaining articles on the agenda. 2. Mustang boys basketball and hockey are in action tonight, basketball at home against Bishop Feehan and hockey at home against Hingham. Tip off for Mustang basketball is at 7:00 p.m. and the puck drops at 7:30 p.m. 3. Yesterday was good news day here at Norwood Patch. Norwood's getting into the holiday spirit - and so is Norwood Patch!

1. The special town meeting that was postponed from Monday will take place tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Coakley Middle School. There are quite a few articles on the agenda including a much debated budget increase for the Norwood Fire Department. 2. The Norwood High School Celtic Strings played at the Walpole Barnes and Noble last night - entertaining the crowd in the cafe with holiday favorites and some of their own classics. Most importantly the Patriots won last night - but there's more.

1. The town meeting postponement was certainly worth it for Patriots fans, as New England defeated the New York Jets last night by a final score of 45-3. The meeting will now be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Coakley Middle School. 2. The Mustang basketball and ice hockey teams have full scrimmage schedules this week as they prepare to kick off the winter sports season. Be sure to follow Patch for your Norwood sports coverage. 3.
