Police Arrest Four for Drug-Related Offenses

On Friday the Norwood Police Anti-Crime unit arrested four people after conductive surveillance on a local apartment complex.

The following is a press release from the Norwood Police Department: On Friday Jan. 4, 2013, Norwood Police Officers assigned to an anti-crime unit were conducting surveillance on a local apartment complex, when they observed a 27-year-old male known to them as Kevin Cunningham, of Norwood, stop by an apartment there, enter then exit quickly, then leave the area. Cunningham was driving a vehicle, and in addition to be an unlicensed driver he has a history of drug activity which plainclothes officers felt his quick visit was consistent with. Four Arrested in Norwood for Alleged Possession, Distribution of Multiple Drugs

Police executed a search warrant on a Norwood residence Wednesday and arrested four men on a variety of drug charges including possession and distribution of several different classes of drugs.

Four men were arrested in Norwood Wednesday on a "variety of drug charges" including possession and distribution of Marijuana and LSD, according to a statement from the Norwood Police. The arrests by Norwood Police detectives and other members of the Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime (NORPAC) Detectives Unit, concluded a narcotics investigation that began months ago when Officer David Eysie and Norwood detectives learned that Stephen Petrosh, 18 of 110 Pellana Rd., was dealing Marijuana from his home. Assault Investigation Leads to Two Drug Arrests, Third Suspect Still At Large

Police are actively looking for the suspect in an assault from early last Thursday morning in South Norwood.

An assault incident in South Norwood last Thursday has led to the arrest of two local males for drug-related charges, Norwood Police spokesman Kevin Grasso said in an email statement Tuesday. The suspect in the initial assault has not yet been arrested, but police are "actively looking to get him in custody," according to Grasso. He said the suspect's name will be released once he has been arrested and arraigned. According to the police statement, on Oct. 4, at 1:39 a.m. a victim of an assault and battery flagged down Officer Andrew Jurewich at the intersection of Dean and Pleasant streets. Malden Man Arrested for Cocaine Possession

A 38-year-old man was arrested by Norwood Police early Thursday morning for drug possession and being a fugitive from justice.

A Malden man was arrested early Thursday morning when Norwood Police found crack cocaine in his possession, police spokesman Kevin Grasso said. Brian H. Elmore, 38, of Malden, was scheduled to be arraigned today in Dedham District Court on charges of possession of a class B substance and being a fugitive from justice on a court warrant. According to Grasso, Officer Gregory Shore was on patrol when he observed a vehicle parked on the side of Route 1. Shore was driving in the opposite direction and had to turn his cruiser around to investigate, and when he arrived at the location where he first observed the vehicle it had moved from the road to a business parking lot. Five Arrested on Heroin-Related Charges

Five Norwood residents were arrested in three separate police actions Friday.

Norwood Police arrested five suspects on Friday for heroin-related charges, according to a press release published to the Norwood Police Facebook page. Andrew Costello, 25; Matthew Bretti, 28; Daniel Watson, 25; Zachary Foley, 22; and Lindsey Maguire, 25, all residents of Norwood, were arrested by Norwood officers in three different incidents Friday. Friday morning Detective John Gover obtained a search warrant for the apartment of Costello, at 872 Washington Street. Shortly after noon, uniformed officers and detectives executed the warrant and found a small amount of heroin, syringes, used packaging and drug paraphernalia. Roslindale Man Arrested for Drug Possession in Norwood

A 21-year-old male was arrested on the scene of a disturbance call early Monday morning.

Norwood Police arrested a 21-year-old Roslindale man Monday morning for alleged drug possession with intent to distribute, according to police logs. Joshua A. Carrington, of First St. in Roslindale, was charged with possession to distribute a class D drug. At 2:24 a.m., Police received a call for a disturbance at McDonald's on Boston-Providence Highway and Everett St. The caller reported a possible fight in progress. Responding officers stated there was a past fight, no current incident, but while on scene placed Carrington under arrest on one charge of possession with intent to distribute a class D drug. No further information was available from Norwood Police as of Monday evening.

Carlos Perez-Figueroa of Dorchester was arrested on Friday following a several month long investigation.

The following is a press release from the Norwood Police Department: On Friday, July 20, 2012, Norwood and Randolph detectives assisted by detectives of the NORPAC Task Force completed a several month long drug investigation into Carlos Perez-Figueroa of 345 Washington St. in Dorchester. During the investigation that preceded Perez-Figueroa’s arrest NORPAC detectives were able to make controlled drug purchases from him, and identified him as a significant drug supplier in the Norwood area and surrounding towns. Perez-Figueroa was arrested along with Jorge Vega of Gaston St. in Quincy and Melvin Arias-Figueroa of Pleasant St. in Fall River. Hyde Park Man Charged with Selling Heroin and Cocaine

Norwood Police began an investigation on the suspect, arrested yesterday in Canton, almost a month ago.

A Hyde Park man was arrested Monday and charged with distribution of heroin and cocaine after allegedly selling drugs to an undercover officer in Walpole. A joint task force - the Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime (NORPAC) - including detectives from Walpole, Norwood and Canton arrested Reinaldo Ortiz, 28, of 60 Margaretta Drive, Hyde Park and charged him with two counts of heroin distribution and one count of cocaine distribution as well as two counts of violating the commonwealth’s school zone law as well. A 26-year-old Waltham man was arrested by Norwood Police yesterday for allegedly dealing in three different kinds of drugs.

Norwood Police arrested a local male for allegedly dealing Marijuana in the area of Washington and Tremont streets Thursday evening. Officers Anthony Lopes and David Eysie arrested 21-year-old Kyle Ferrantino, of 31 St Joseph Avenue in Norwood, on one count of distribution of a class D substance (Marijuana).
