Norwood High Honors Fall Athletes
Coaches praised their players for being hard workers and good role models.
The Norwood High School fall athletic teams held their annual Athletic Awards on Wednesday night at the Elks Club in Norwood, to honor each individual sports team and its top performers. Hosted by athletic director Brian McDonough, the event began on an inspirational note as McDonough introduced current Norwood High School substitue teacher Brian Gallo - a 2004 NHS graduate and former Mustang lacrosse player who decided to instead play football as a freshman at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. McDonough explained how Gallo was cut from the UMass football team that year, but that fact did not deter Gallo. He worked harder than ever to improve, and the following year he successfully earned a spot on the football team - a team that …
