Santa to Appear on NPA-TV Tonight

Call in to NPA-TV during tonight's live show and Santa will answer questions from the children of Norwood.

Does your child have a question for Santa? You're in luck! Santa will appear on Norwood Public Access' Town Channel at 6:30 p.m. today for a live chat with Norwood's Jack McCarthy. According to the NPA-TV Facebook Page: "Santa is making a special trip to the NPA-TV Studios to talk to the children of Norwood." This is the seventh year of the annual show. Broken Holiday Lights? Where to Recycle Them in Norwood

The Norwood Recycling Department is offering two drop off sites from now until Jan. 31.

Did you pull out the holiday lights from last year only to find broken bulbs and burnt out fuses? The Norwood Recycling Department is offering two drop off collection sites for outdated or broken holiday lights now through Jan. 31. Holiday (Christmas incandescent, LED) lights have copper and plastics that can be collected, recovered and recycled, if they are diverted to a separate designated recycling program. Lights can be dropped off at the Department of Public Works Administrative Offices Lobby from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, or at the Winter Street Composting Site on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Norwood Recycling asks residents not to put lights in the recycling bins at their homes. Some of it is naughty but much of it can be nice. “When party planning during the holidays, it’s important to have variety,” says Stacy Kennedy, MPH, RD, CSO, LDN, a nutritionist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. “Many of the foods we enjoy around the holidays are not only delicious to eat, but they may also contain cancer-fighting nutrients.” Kennedy says it’s easy to include them in any menu when you know what to look for.
