NPA-TV Announces New Assistant Station Manager

NPA-TV is pleased to announce the promotion of Meghan Staffiere Corbett to Assistant Station Manager.

Editor's note: The following is a press release from NPA-TV. NPA-TV is pleased to announce the promotion of Meghan Staffiere Corbett to Assistant Station Manager. "Meghan is the ultimate team player. Her enthusiasm, energy and strong work ethic are contagious. She truly loves what she does, she is an excellent mentor to staff and I look forward to her continued growth, " said Jack Tolman, NPA Station Manger. Hired in 2008, Meghan has been instrumental in the increase of the use of Public Access by local Norwood residents. She teaches producers how to turn their ideas into Public Access Programs. Santa to Appear on NPA-TV Tonight

Call in to NPA-TV during tonight's live show and Santa will answer questions from the children of Norwood.

Does your child have a question for Santa? You're in luck! Santa will appear on Norwood Public Access' Town Channel at 6:30 p.m. today for a live chat with Norwood's Jack McCarthy. According to the NPA-TV Facebook Page: "Santa is making a special trip to the NPA-TV Studios to talk to the children of Norwood." This is the seventh year of the annual show. Candlelight Vigil to be Held Sunday for Victims of Newtown Shooting

Join the Norwood community Sunday at 8 p.m. on the Town Common for a candlelight vigil.

Norwood's Dawn Fitzgerald is putting together a candlelight vigil for Sunday, Dec. 16 at 8 p.m. on the Norwood Town Common for all the victims of the Connecticut Shootings. Fitzgerald said the vigil will be held rain or shine "for a brief prayer and moment of silence for the poor souls that lost their lives and loved ones in the Newtown, CT tragedy." People should bring their own candles for the event. Connecticut police said Friday afternoon, Dec. 14, that 26 people, including 20 children, were killed at an elementary school in Newtown, CT after a gunman opened fire. NPA-TV Launches New Government Channel

On Oct. 1 Norwood Public Access will add a full-time government channel to their listings.

On Oct. 1, Norwood's Public Access Television (NPA-TV) will be launching a full-time Government Access Channel. "NPA-TV is expanding its government coverage and this increase has created the need to consolidate the broadcast of government meetings onto one channel," a press release from NPA-TV Government Access Coordinator Amy Tobey said. Town Selectmen meetings and School Committee currently are broadcast on the Town and School channels respectively, both live and recorded after the fact. Community Announcements will continue to be posted on the School and Town Channels. "NPA-TV is proud of its current government coverage," Tobey's statement said. "It is our hope that this channel provides insight and information so viewers can learn how …

Registration for NPA-TV Beginner Youth Video Club Starts Today

Norwood middle school students will learn the basics of video production in this 8 week class.

Residents of Norwood in grades 6-8 can register now for NPA-TV's Youth Video Club for Beginners - an eight week class in the basics of video production. Students learn all angles of production including studio, editing, field production and remote production, and get to use all of NPA's state of the art equipment. "The kids all have a turn using all of the equipment and all have a chance to be on camera and see what they like most about video production," NPA-TV Public Access Coordinator Meghan Corbett said in an email. "Some kids like editing while others love to be on the camera or behind the camera, it varies. It is a good opportunity to kids to get creative and explore the world of video production!"
