MassDOT Secretary Davey Asks NVCC Members to Support Transportation Bill

Davey was at the British Beer Company on Route 1 in Walpole Tuesday morning at a breakfast hosted by the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce.

MassDOT secretary and CEO Richard Davey was in Walpole Tuesday morning for a breakfast with members of the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce. A day after the House passed a $500 million transportation bill to help balance MassDOT's budget gap, Davey was asking those in attendance, at the British Beer Company on Route 1, to support a much larger bill - about $1.9 billion - that would help fund transportation and education in the state. “What I really want you all to understand…is that the current transportation system we have we cannot afford. We just can’t,” Davey said. Davey said the MBTA is the most indebted transit agency in the United States with almost $9 billion in debt.  He said that the proposed $500 million bill by the House …

U.S. Senate Candidate Elizabeth Warren Talks with Local Business Owners

Warren visited the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday afternoon.

U.S. Senatorial Candidate Elizabeth Warren visited the NVCC Tuesday, June 12, 2012 for a round table discussion with chamber members about issues that concern them personally and professionally. Ms. Warren was on-hand to answer questions and speak about her plans, if elected, to improve the connection between business and government as well as assisting young people in getting the necessary funding for education. “What a delight Elizabeth Warren was during the Chamber reception. U.S. Senate Candidate Elizabeth Warren to Visit Chamber of Commerce

Warren will meet with the NVCC board of directors and then with other members.

U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren will be visiting the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, June 12. The Senate hopeful will meet with the NVCC Board of Directors starting at 3:00 p.m. and then will meet with other members at the NVCC office in Norwood. "Regardless of which candidate you may personally support," the NVCC press release reads, "one of them will be elected Senator and represent our community's interests in Washington." Warren is an American bankruptcy law expert, policy advocate, Harvard Law School professor, and Democratic Party candidate in the 2012 United States Senate election in Massachusetts. NVCC: Congratulations to Bertucci's on New Bar Opening

Bertucci's held a ribbon cutting for their new bar Monday night.
