Norwood Police Arrest Two Suspects for Forging a Check

Two suspects were arrested for attempting to cash a false check in the amount of $5,265.

  On Mar. 11, Norwood Police received a call from Norwood Bank stating that a black female was attempting to cash a forged check in the amount of $5,265.  The check was issued by a Norwood auto body business. "The employee from the auto body shop stated that check was not good and that he would respond to the Bank to confirm this," Norwood police said in a statement.  But after waiting for some time, the woman became impatient and left the bank. As the woman was leaving, the employee from the auto shop was entering the bank and was able to get the description of the woman's vehicle. Officer Greg Gamel was informed that the woman left in a grey or silver van on Central Street and he broadcasted the information over the police radio. "…

Free Financial Seminar for Norwood HS Students

The event will take place on Feb. 26 and offer students a chance to win $500.

Norwood High School students and their parents are invited to attend a free financial seminar at Norwood Bank on Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Those who attend the seminar will have a chance to win a $500 savings account. The first of Norwood Bank's "Young Adult Financial Seminar" series, geared towards high school students and parents, representatives will be on hand to provide advice to help students get started with saving money, setting goals and making plans with their money and protecting themselves against identify theft and fraud.
