Monday- May 13, 2013 Breaking and Entering- 7:02 a.m. Access Road- Caller reported a past B&E of a motor vehicle at Castle Electric. Larceny- 9:01 a.m. Access Road- Wire and tools were stolen from Professional Electric. Breaking and Entering- 11:49 a.m. Lansdowne Way- Caller stated a home was broken into. Lockout- 5:06 p.m. Washington Street- A resident reported that his bathroom door was locked and he cut himself trying to get it open. Norwood Fire Department sent. NFD handled problems. Two Norwood Patrol Officers were involved from Monday afternoon until the second suspect was taken into custody Friday night.
When the Boston Marathon bombings took place, countless members of law enforcement came together to find the suspects involved. Norwood police had two officers that contributed. Officers Lopes and Fundora are members of the METROLEC SWAT. They rotated on assignment (12 hours on and 12 hours off) from Monday afternoon until the second suspect was taken into custody Friday night. "We salute both officers and appreciate the sacrifice that they and their families made this past week," Norwood Police said on their Facebook page.

Thursday, Apr. 11 (3:17 p.m.) According to police reports, there was a hit and run at the Home Depot parking lot on Boston-Providence Highway. The incident is under investigation. (3:31 p.m.) Norwood Police arrested a man for the destruction of property. A report was filed. (4:21 p.m.) According to reports, police arrested a man for driving with a suspended license, not having an inspection sticker and not changing his address with the RMV. (4:24 p.m.) According to police reports, there was a drug law violation on Garfield Avenue and Hawthorne Street. The two males involved were gone upon arrival of Norwood Police.
