At approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, an unknown suspect with a small handgun robbed AJ’s Market in Norwood.
At approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, an unknown suspect robbed AJ’s Market at gunpoint, Norwood Police said in a statement. The suspect was described as a black male 5’2” to 5’4” in height. He wore a black or dark blue hooded sweatshirt and a red bandana over his face. The suspect produced a small black handgun and robbed the clerk of an unknown amount of cash before making his escape in a small red motor vehicle down Route 1A. Suspect fled vehicle. Police located and arrested Thomas F. A suspect with a silver semi-automatic handgun reportedly demanded money from an employee at the Mobil Mart on Washington St. before fleeing the scene.
The following is taken from a report by the Norwood Police Department: Between 3 and 4 a.m. Monday the Norwood Police Communication Center received a telephone call from an alarm company reporting a panic alarm at 499 Washington Street - which is the Mobil Mart. Officer James Mahoney was first on scene and spoke with an employee who stated the store had been robbed at gunpoint. It is reported that the suspect came into the store and demanded cash from the cash register. Once the suspect received the cash from the employee he fled on foot in an unknown direction. The suspect was described as a black male, 150-180 pounds, between 5’8 and 6 feet tall. Suspect was seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a baseball cap, black …
