Norwood Market Robbed at Gunpoint

At approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, an unknown suspect with a small handgun robbed AJ’s Market in Norwood.

At approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, an unknown suspect robbed AJ’s Market at gunpoint, Norwood Police said in a statement. The suspect was described as a black male 5’2” to 5’4” in height. He wore a black or dark blue hooded sweatshirt and a red bandana over his face. The suspect produced a small black handgun and robbed the clerk of an unknown amount of cash before making his escape in a small red motor vehicle down Route 1A. Norwood Police Log: Hit and Run Leads to OUI Arrest, Armed Robbery at Mobil

Highlights from the daily Norwood Police Logs. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Dec. 7 8:21 a.m. - Caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Neponset St. Two vehicles towed from the scene. Police filed a report. 3:48 p.m. - Caller reported breaking and entering to a motor vehicle, money missing. Police filed a report. 4:02 p.m. - Caller at Mobil Gas on Washington St. and Railroad Ave. reported a hit and run to a vehicle. Police filed a report. 6:10 p.m. - Caller reported a hit and run at Dean and Neponset streets, was following the suspect that fled. Vehicle last seen on Jacobsen Dr. Multiple units responded. Suspect fled vehicle. Police located and arrested Thomas F. Tierney, Jr., of Norwood, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and fleeing the scene of property damage. 6:10 p.m. - …

Norwood Mobil Robbed at Gunpoint Early Monday

A suspect with a silver semi-automatic handgun reportedly demanded money from an employee at the Mobil Mart on Washington St. before fleeing the scene.

The following is taken from a report by the Norwood Police Department: Between 3 and 4 a.m. Monday the Norwood Police Communication Center received a telephone call from an alarm company reporting a panic alarm at 499 Washington Street - which is the Mobil Mart. Officer James Mahoney was first on scene and spoke with an employee who stated the store had been robbed at gunpoint. It is reported that the suspect came into the store and demanded cash from the cash register. Once the suspect received the cash from the employee he fled on foot in an unknown direction. The suspect was described as a black male, 150-180 pounds, between 5’8 and 6 feet tall. Suspect was seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a baseball cap, black …
