A few Norwood residents uploaded videos to YouTube over the weekend, showing off the snow outside their house and having some fun too.

We could see more than two feet of snow.
If you've been talking about what a calm winter we've had, you've spoken too soon. Just a couple days after the 35th anniversary of the Blizzard of '78, New England is expected to get a blizzard. The Norwood area could see more than 2 feet of snow, the largest snow accumulation since 2010. The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for most of eastern Massachusetts including Norwood, calling it a "potential historic winter storm". Residents can expect the potential of snow falling at 3-to-4 inches per hour and wind gusts of more thsan 20 miles per hour. “I think it's time to prepare for the biggest storm since December 26th and 27th of 2010,” WHDH-TV chief meteorologist Pete Bouchard wrote in his latest blog post. “For the …

Forecasters are warning the timing of an approaching snowstorm may make Monday afternoon and evening commute slippery.
There may be an inch of snow on the ground on Monday evening during the evening commute, according to forecasters at WHDH-TV. "Don't expect a ton of snow, but a general 1-3" falls late Monday afternoon, through the evening, producing slick roads, perhaps in time for the ride home from work," writes meterologist Chris Lambert in his blog. Even though not much snow will fall, Lambert said that the snow "will create slick spots on the roads Monday evening and Monday night." The National Weather Service forecasts that the snow will start between 3-5 p.m. in Norwood. The precipitation will change over to sleet later in the evening. Snow and heat turn up the chatter.
My neighbor is stuck behind a round mound of snow. "I can't wait until it's summer and 90 degrees." Nine months later, the same neighbor, with water bottle in hand, is making her way up the walk. "Man, it's hot. I wish it were cooler. When is this heat going to stop?" That's the beauty of weather. If it's one way, you want it the other way. Give me snow on a 100-degree day. Give me blistering heat on a freezing cold day. Weather also brings out the best in us...most of the time. Anyone who was alive and breathing in the epic Blizzard of 1978 remembers how neighbors who barely said "hello" to each other were opening up their homes, sharing supplies and friendship.
