Norwood Man Arrested After Causing Multiple Accidents

Christopher L. Brooks, 35, of Norwood, was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (second offense).

State Police apprehended a Norwood man after he reportedly caused several motor vehicle crashes on Route 93 North near Exit 2A in Canton. Police arrested Christopher L. Brooks, 35, of Norwood, and charged him with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (second offense). He was arrested at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree at 12:45 p.m. after police received multiple 911 calls for an erratic driver causing accidents on Route 93, according to Massachusetts State Police. State Police did not comment whether anyone was injured in the crashes. Braintree officers helped State Police in the arrest. Norwood Police Log: Stolen Laundry, Inert Grenade Found

Thursday, Jan. 24 7:30 a.m. - Caller on Meadow Street stated she noticed a dirty maroon colored Ford Explorer idling in front of her neighbor's home with two possibly Hispanic males. As she pulled out of driveway they left. She noticed them down by Juniper Drive. Caller requested that the area be checked. Officers checked the area, no such vehicle found. 10:50 a.m. - Caller reported a motor vehicle on Walpole Street. Norwood Fire responded, one vehicle towed from the scene. Police filed a report. 1:37 p.m. - Walk-in to the department stated that his vehicle was struck in the Shaws plaza on Nahatan Street. State Police Arrested 1,100 More for OUI in 2012

Massachusetts State Police and local police departments will be out this holiday weekend looking for drunk, impaired and dangerous drivers.

Drunk driving arrests by Massachusetts State Police increased by 30 percent - or more than 1,100 drivers - said Massachusetts State Police Superintendent Colonel Timothy Allen at a press conference outside of Massachusetts State Police headquarters in Framingham Friday morning. As of yesterday, Dec. 27, Massachusetts State Police had arrested 4,866 individuals and charged them with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. In 2011, Massachusetts State Police arrested 3,728 individuals. Massachusetts State Police and local police departments will be out in force this holiday weekend looking for drunk, impaired and dangerous drivers on the roads, as part of their Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over holiday campaign. Norwood Man Arrested After Leading Police Chase On 495

A 30-year-old Norwood man was arrested Monday evening after leaving the scene of an accident and failing to stop for police.

A Norwood man was arrested by Massachusetts State Police yesterday after leading a brief motor vehicle chase on Route 495, according to a release from David Procopio at the Massachusetts State Police Office of Media Relations. Joseph Fry, 30, of Norwood, was arrested by State Police and charged with multiple infractions including failure to stop for police, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and drug possession. On Monday at 5:30 p.m. the State Police barracks in Middleboro received a 911 call for a hit and run. The caller gave a description of the suspect vehicle to police and reported the car had fled along Route 24 in Bridgewater.
