Heavy Rain, Strong Winds in Forecast for Norwood Tuesday and Wednesday

A multi-hazard weather event is in store for Tuesday afternoon and night and into Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Potential hazards include heavy rain, strong winds, high tides, and the possibly of isolated severe thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service has forecast heavy rain, strong winds and the potential of thunderstorms for the Norwood area Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. There is a wind advisory and hazardous weather outlook in place. The worst of the storm is projected to be Tuesday evening and into Wednesday. According to the NWS: The weather settles down after that. Thursday and Friday will be mostly sunny. Temperatures will be in the mid 60s on Thursday and the low 70s on Friday. Strong to Severe Thunderstorms Possible Today Through Saturday

Large hail and downpours may accompany storms the next few days.

A stretch of warm and hazy weather conditions will lead to the possibility of showers and thunderstorms over the next few days, the National Weather Service is predicting. Earlier today the NWS issued a flood advisory for many communities, including Norwood, after strong thunderstorms barreled through Eastern Mass., dropping heavy rain on the region. Isolated storms could build again later today, with the potential for strong wind and localized flash flooding. The chance for rain and storms will return on Thursday, with hail possible from the morning through the early afternoon hours.
