The first Thanksgiving day game at the new Norwood High School was a big win for the Mustangs, as they defeated the Dedham Marauders 41-6.
Norwood was able to build up a big lead early to defeat Dedham Thanksgiving Day.
The Norwood High football team ended its season with a 41-6 win over Dedham, Thanksgiving morning. In the first quarter, Norwood built up a 13-0 lead over Dedham. The Mustangs got touchdowns from Marvin Beasley and Jason Matovu. In the second quarter, Matovu scored his second touchdown of the game for a 20-0 lead. Beasley scored his second touchdown of the game on a punt return at 10:30 mark of the second quarter. Norwood recovered a fumble at the Dedham 30-yard line. The Mustangs' Pat Foley turned into a touchdown run for 34-0. Norwood added another score for a 41-0 lead. In the fourth quarter, Dedham prevented the shut out with a touchdown pass, but the extra point was blocked, 41-6. Norwood finishes the season with a 3-8 overall …

Blue Hills Regional Technical School walloped Bristol-Plymouth during the annual Thanksgiving Day football game on Thursday at Blue Hills in Canton. Blue Hills beat Bristol-Plymouth 38-6. Dedham turned over the ball on the second play of the game, setting the tone for a 48-18 routing at the hands of archrival Norwood today in the annual Thanksgiving matchup. The Mustangs would find the endzone three times in the opening quarter alone, and would lead at the half 34-6. The Marauders did not fare much better in the third where they had only a single first down. Dedham scored twice in the fourth, but Norwood ultimately proved to be too much, running up the score before the senior Mustangs hoisted the Wall-Toti Trophy above the heads of their teammates.
